As Chief Procurement Officer, Richard is responsible for managing Borden’s strategic partnerships with suppliers and vendors. By sourcing all of the company’s raw milk and dairy commodities, Richard ensures that Borden has the materials it needs to produce its full range of wholesome, nutritious products. He also leads Borden’s mergers and acquisitions strategy, creating alliances that enhance the company’s overall performance.
Richard has more than 10 years of experience in the food industry and has held leadership roles in business analytics, supply chain planning and commodity procurement. Before joining Borden in 2012, Richard served as Director of Business Analytics & Reporting at Dean Foods. He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, serving clients in the food and beverage and consumer packaged goods industries. Richard also is the founder and owner of The Island Spot, a Jamaican restaurant and music venue dedicated to spreading the inclusive message of the Jamaican national motto, “Out of Many, One people.”
Richard graduated summa cum laude from Benedict College with a bachelor’s degree in physics. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University, where he earned the Pacesetter Award.
